Pamela Anderson, the legendary star of the original Baywatch, has finally given her verdict on the show's 2017 reboot – and her response may not be what fans expected.
In a rare and candid interview, the actress and activist shared her thoughts on the modern adaptation, which starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Zac Efron. While many assumed she'd be critical of the reboot, Anderson surprised everyone with her refreshingly open-minded perspective.
Pamela's Unexpected Take on the Reboot
"I think it's great that they tried something new," Anderson revealed. "The original Baywatch was a product of its time, and the reboot had to adapt to a different era. It's fun to see how they reimagined it."
However, she did admit that nothing could truly replace the nostalgia of the original. "There’s only one Baywatch, and that’s ours," she laughed. "But I appreciate the effort."
Why She Didn’t Make a Cameo
Fans had hoped Anderson might appear in the reboot, but she confirmed she was never approached. "I wasn’t asked, and honestly, I don’t think I would’ve done it anyway," she said. "Some things are best left in the past."
Despite this, she holds no ill will toward the new cast. "Dwayne and Zac did a great job. It’s a different kind of energy, but that’s okay."
A New Chapter for Pamela
Now focused on activism and her memoir, Anderson has moved beyond her Baywatch days. "That was a chapter of my life, and I’m proud of it," she said. "But I’m more interested in making a difference now."
Still, she remains grateful for the show that made her a global icon. "It changed my life forever, and I’ll always love it for that."
