MGM+ has unveiled the official trailer for the second season of the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and fans have spotted a potential major plot twist involving Henry Beauchamp. The teaser was shared on Instagram on Thursday evening, August 27, with the new season set to premiere weekly from September 19 on MGM+ for UK viewers.
Season 2 Premiere Date and Setting
Created by Matthew B. Roberts, the series explores the story of Jamie and Claire Fraser's parents, set years before Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series. Following the epic finale of Outlander, fans of the time-traveling universe will not face an extended "droughtlander" this year, as the new chapter arrives soon.
The trailer takes viewers back to 1700s Scotland at the start of the Jacobite Uprising. The season follows two young couples as they navigate brutal battles, shifting loyalties, clan politics, and the mysterious standing stones of Craigh Na Dun, each fighting their own war with devastating effects.
Fan Reactions and the Potential Twist
Season One, which premiered in August 2025, introduced the passionate love stories of Claire and Jamie's parents. Starring Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater as Brian and Ellen Fraser, and Jeremy Irvine and Hermione Corfield as Henry and Julia Beauchamp, the first series earned an 87 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new trailer appears to show that Henry, Julia, and their newborn baby William did not all travel through the stones together. At the end of the first series, Henry pushed Julia and baby William toward the humming stones, but the trailer suggests Henry may have stayed behind.
