Nina Warhurst has been tipped as the frontrunner to become the new presenter of BBC Breakfast, replacing Naga Munchetty who announced she is leaving.
Odds and Contenders
Betway has placed Warhurst at odds of 7/4, ahead of other journalists including Tina Daheley (4/1), Victoria Derbyshire (40/1) and Anna Foster (25/1). Current BBC Breakfast presenters are also in the mix, with Jon Kay at 8/1. With Naga typically hosting alongside Charlie Stayt, it is thought another female presenter would take the role.
Naga's Departure
Naga confirmed she is departing to present 5 Live Breakfast five days a week from January. In a statement, she said: "It has been a privilege to be part of the BBC Breakfast TV team for the past 17 years, working alongside an incredibly talented and hard-working group of journalists who are not only outstanding colleagues but also great friends." She added that her new role was "simply too good to pass up".

Nina's Career
Warhurst began her broadcasting career on Russia Today in Moscow before joining BBC East Midlands regional news. After roles including political editor at BBC North West, she became part of BBC Breakfast in 2018. Two years later, the mother of three succeeded Steph McGovern as the programme's main business presenter. Last year, she moved to BBC News at One.
Other presenters tipped to take over include Emma Vardy (7/1) and current BBC Breakfast stand-in hosts Rachel Burden, Ben Thompson and Luxmy Gopal, all at 10/1. BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One from 6am.
