Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement star in new Disney+ comedy-drama Alice and Steve

Nicola Walker's new comedy-drama Alice and Steve has released its first look ahead of a summer premiere on Disney+. The six-part series, described by the streamer as a 'must-watch' and 'outrageously witty', follows the friends-to-foes relationship between Alice (Walker) and Steve (Jemaine Clement).

The synopsis reads: 'Alice is devastated when her best friend Steve starts dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy. She's going to lose her best friend and her daughter in one fell swoop. Alice tries everything she can to end the relationship. Unfortunately for her, Steve's more than ready for the attack, and what begins as a perfect friendship, devolves into an all-out feud.'

The series has been billed as a 'hilarious, messy, and complicated' look at friendship, family, and love, as well as an 'anti-romantic comedy'. The London-set first look offers glimpses of Walker and Clement, alongside Yali Topol Margalith as daughter Izzy and Joel Fry. Additional cast includes Tyrese Eaton-Dyce, Marcia Warren, Eilidh Fisher and Ebony Aboagye.

Created and written by Sophie Goodhart (Sex Education, Rivals), Alice and Steve is a Hulu Original and will stream exclusively on Disney+ in the UK. Walker said in a statement: 'I'm thrilled to be stepping into the fabulous world of friendship, motherhood, marriage, frantic revenge and fierce love that Sophie Goodhart has created, and to be doing it with Jemaine Clement is completely joyful!'

Walker is known for roles in The Split, Unforgotten and Annika. Alice and Steve is expected to arrive on Disney+ in summer 2025.
