Newcastle United's squad numbers for next season have been leaked online, with three players set for new numbers and the club's new signings seemingly learning their fate. Eagle-eyed supporters on social media spotted that when shopping for the new kit on the club's online store, a number of players have new numbers for personalising this season's strip.
Key Number Changes
While there has been no official confirmation from the club, if the numbers on the store are to be believed, Will Osula is set to become the number 10 this season, ditching his number 18 shirt to inherit Anthony Gordon's old number after he left to join Barcelona. Osula ended last season as the club's first-choice striker, having started the campaign as a peripheral figure, and that apparent change would reflect his rise in status.
Tino Livramento has also been upgraded from 21 to number two after Kieran Trippier's departure, while Anthony Elanga is now down as number 19 as opposed to 20.
New Signings' Numbers
New signings Bazoumana Toure will wear number 17, Sean Steur will don the number 14 shirt, and goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen will take the number 24 shirt, if the club store's personalisation options are to be believed.
Vacant Numbers
There are still some key numbers to be filled ahead of the new season. The number eight shirt, vacated by Sandro Tonali after his move to Tottenham Hotspur, is still up for grabs. The number six shirt is also vacant, while the numbers 13, 15, 22, and 25 are also available to any prospective new signings.
