ITV has unveiled the new eye logo for Big Brother 2026, and it has impressed fans with its design. The eye, which appears to be a simple photo of a human eye with a purple iris, is actually a collage made up of various people's eyes.
On X, @gtothet123 joked: 'Whattttt it actually looks good this year!!!!??!?!?' while another said it was the 'best eye ITV had ever made'. Others noted that the new eye looks very similar to the poster for The Truman Show, which used a similar collage style.
Truman Show Comparisons
The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey, is about a man whose entire life is broadcast as a TV show. Writer Anthony Frajman noted that the film 'foretold the rise of reality TV, mass surveillance, social media, influencer marketing and our increasing obsession with celebrity.'
Both The Truman Show and Big Brother debuted in 1998, making the comparison apt. ITV is promising that the new series will be the biggest yet, with 'ambitious tasks, high-stakes nominations and dramatic live evictions' across an extended eight-week run.
Fan Reactions
Big Brother fans have shared their thoughts on Reddit. Euphoric-Pop3449 noted: 'First time they've used a human eye on a civilian Big Brother since series 1. Perhaps a hint they have taken casting seriously and have regular people? Either way, definitely says "we are doing things differently this year."'
Reyadyinforit added: 'A new eye for a new era, I hope. This is promising as it's a move away from the childish eye logos of the last three seasons.' Another user, clananik, wrote: 'Instantly seems more mature and not oversaturated. It's only a logo, but this already makes me feel mildly hopeful it won't be another season of ITV dross.'
Series Return
The ITV revival of Big Brother has received a mixed response since its 2023 reboot, which drew 2.5 million viewers for its launch. Critics and fans often claim the series lacks the sharper edge of the Channel 4 era. AJ Odudu and Will Best are back hosting, and the new series returns this autumn on ITV2 and ITVX.
