Netflix's The Last House Trailer Has Fans 'Triggered' Over Chilling Twist
Netflix's The Last House Trailer Triggers Fans

Netflix's gripping new film The Last House has just dropped its first trailer, and subscribers are already hooked. The movie stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura as a family of four who are suddenly and mysteriously locked inside their home with no way of escaping.

Chilling Premise

As rain starts to pour relentlessly outside, the family begins to suspect that an otherworldly threat is keeping them, their neighbors, and potentially the entire world trapped. Days and weeks turn into months and years, forcing the family to adapt to their strange new reality.

Director Louis Leterrier, known for Now You See Me and Lupin, teases to Netflix's Tudum: “Food is dwindling, and this family has to rely on each other and try to understand what comes next. What’s locking them in, and how will they survive?”

Cast and Reactions

Joining Lee and Moura as parents Ann and Jason are Riley Chung and Noah Alexander Sosnowski as their children Ruth and Graham. As the film progresses, Emma Ho and Gabriel Barbosa take on the roles. Following the trailer's release on Monday (15th June), it quickly scored millions of views from eager Netflix fans.

One fan replied on YouTube: “This looks VERY interesting. It's got my attention, alright!” Another user said: “I’ve never been so excited for a new Netflix movie in years.” Someone else on X commented: “This looks insanely tense... Greta Lee + Wagner Moura trapped in a house? I’m locked in already.”

Triggering Concerns

However, some viewers are concerned The Last House could hit close to home for those who experienced the Covid-19 lockdowns of 2020-21. A YouTuber user said: “I was quarantined for 3 years during Covid. This is triggering.” Another added: “Netflix said 'what if 2020 but make it a thriller' and honestly we deserve this.”

The Last House premieres on 7th August on Netflix.
