Netflix is bringing its acclaimed true crime documentary series Conversations with a Killer to a close. The upcoming installment, focusing on cult leader Charles Manson, will serve as the show's final chapter.
The streamer has released a trailer for Conversations with a Killer: The Charles Manson Tapes, promising insights into Manson and the Family through his own words, expert commentary, and archival footage. However, the teaser also confirmed this would be the series' last entry, a move that has surprised and disappointed many fans.

Series Background
The series debuted in 2019 with Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, released on the 30th anniversary of Bundy's execution. Created and directed by Joe Berlinger, who also helmed the Zac Efron film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the show featured previously unheard recordings of Bundy speaking about his crimes, interspersed with commentary from those involved in the case.
Berlinger went on to direct subsequent seasons focusing on Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and the Son of Sam killer David Berkowitz. Each installment followed a similar format, playing chilling interview tapes of the subjects discussing their offenses.
Conversations with a Killer: The Charles Manson Tapes is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 12.
