Paramount+ has released the full trailer for the second season of its mafia drama MobLand, starring Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. The new footage promises further destruction as the Harrigan crime family's internal politics threaten to destroy their empire.
Harry Da Souza's warning
The trailer opens with Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) telling his boss, Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan): "This family is on a death spiral." Neither Conrad nor his wife, Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren), appears impressed by his words.
Despite the cracks inside the family, Harry continues to try to protect the Harrigans from external threats, as he is seen dealing with business. He warns the mob boss: "We've lost fentanyl, now heroin. We are surrounded by sharks. Ripe for the picking."
External threats and internal betrayal
The trailer cuts to a shot of cartel operative Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer) as she smiles at Colin Tattersall (Toby Jones). Harry warns that the war against the Harrigans has "already begun," and when Conrad asks what he means, a montage of violence and explosions signals the threats ahead.
Harry's wife Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt) gives her husband a reality check, warning: "You've spent all [your] life fixing for that family. You're not the remedy." Later, Harry warns Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine): "Kat McAllister, she's going to eat us piece by piece."
Family fractures
New star Johnny Flynn works with Kat as she tells him: "Show me what you can do." He then proceeds to beat a man whose face is obscured. Things come to a head when Conrad holds a gun to his son Kevin's head, and word gets out as Colin recounts that the mob boss has gone "berserk."
There is another twist when Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon) attends a secret meeting with Kat behind her father's back. "It's time for change," she tells Kat. In another scene, Kevin declares: "I want to see Conrad dead." However, Conrad is seen wielding a machine gun and shouts: "If you want a war, I'll give you a war."
MobLand season 2 premieres on September 18 on Paramount+.
