Emmerdale star Mike Parr has shared a touching tribute to his newborn daughter, Suzie, describing the last six days as 'better than all my years on this planet combined'. The 39-year-old actor, best known for playing Ross Barton, posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram showing him carrying Suzie in a baby carrier.
In his message, Parr wrote: 'I understand unconditional love for the first time! You have changed what the word love means to me. In fact, I'm not sure I understood what it was before I held you.' He added: 'I absolutely adore you. Thank you for making us so happy. Love, Dad x'.
Parr and his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis announced they were expecting their first child earlier this year, after 'hard launching' their relationship in October. The couple shared a beach photo with the caption 'In our Mum + Dad Era'.
Co-stars were quick to congratulate the new father, with Beth Cordingly calling him an 'amazing dad' and Lisa Riley saying she 'could not be happier'. Kelvin Fletcher simply wrote: 'Congratulations lad. What a journey you've begun'.
Parr first appeared in Emmerdale in 2013 as Ross Barton, a role he reprised last October after a six-year hiatus. He has since been nominated for Best Comic Performance at the Inside Soap Awards 2025.
