Michelle Keegan will make her return to television in the new ITV crime drama The Blame, with the release of the trailer prompting fans to share a familiar comment about the Stockport-born actress.
The six-part series, based on the debut novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley, sees Keegan play DI Emma Crane, who investigates the death of a teenage figure skater. Douglas Booth stars alongside her as DI Tom Radley. According to ITV, the drama "dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption - all under the surface of a seemingly quiet town." It was filmed in and around London for ITV1 and STV, with streaming available on ITVX and STV Player.
Fans react to trailer release
ITV and Quay Street Productions released the trailer ahead of the series' launch on ITV1 and ITVX this September, offering audiences their most revealing look yet at the drama. Following the release on social media, fans were quick to share their delight at Keegan's upcoming return to the small screen.

Cast and upcoming Netflix series
The Blame also stars Ian Hart as DCI Kenneth Walker, Nathan Mensah as DC Lewis Brimah, and Nigel Boyle as digital forensic technician Neil Shergill. Joe Armstrong plays ice-skating coach Kyle Frasier, and Matilda Freeman is Sophie Madsen. Gavin Spokes, Josh Bolt, and Ceallach Spellman are part of the Wakestead Police team as DC Joel Stevens, DC Douglas James, and PC Callum Drummond.
The drama marks Keegan's return to ITV, where she rose to fame in Coronation Street in 2008, before she features in her second Harlan Coben series for Netflix. Earlier this year, it was announced she would lead the cast of the best-selling author's next offering for the streaming giant, following her praised role in Fool Me Once in 2024.
At the end of last month, Keegan was named as one of the first cast members, alongside Tom Bateman, for Netflix's adaptation of Coben's novel The Woods. Netflix announced: "Michelle Keegan and Tom Bateman for his latest Netflix adaptation, THE WOODS." The synopsis for the eight-episode limited series reads: "20 years ago, Paul Copeland’s sister Camille vanished from a summer camp in the woods, a loss that tore his family apart. When a murder victim is revealed to have disappeared along with Paul’s sister, Paul’s hope rises... could his sister still be alive?"
