Met Gala 2026: Theme, Co-Chairs, Guest List & New Venue Revealed
Met Gala 2026: Everything You Need to Know

The 2026 Met Gala, fashion's most anticipated night, is set to return on Monday, May 4, with the theme 'Fashion is Art.' The event will inaugurate the newly built Condé Nast Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, marking a new chapter for the iconic fundraiser.

Theme and Exhibition

This year's exhibition, titled 'Costume Art,' will showcase 200 art objects paired with 200 garments, highlighting the enduring connection between fashion and art across centuries. The display also introduces groundbreaking body positivity elements, including 25 new mannequins reflecting diverse body types often overlooked in art history. Disability activist Sinéad Burke and musician Yseult were among nine individuals digitally scanned for the inclusive mannequins.

Co-Chairs and Hosts

Beyoncé leads an A-list lineup of co-chairs, joined by Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. The event is made possible by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, according to a Met press release.

Ticket Prices and Fundraising

Individual tickets cost a staggering £80,000 each, with around 400 guests expected to attend. Last year, the fundraiser for the Costume Institute raised a record £24 million.

Guest List

Expected attendees include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Teyana Taylor, and Zoë Kravitz. Regulars like Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner are also anticipated on the red carpet.

Event Schedule

The evening will follow the traditional glamorous proceedings: the famous red carpet, cocktails, followed by dinner at the Temple of Dendur. Some fashionably late arrivals are expected to appear only during dessert.

Dame Anna Wintour retains final say over the guest list and overall direction of the gala. The event continues to be a cornerstone of fashion philanthropy and celebrity culture.
