Melania Trump Documentary Funded by Bezos Faces Flop Fears

Jeff Bezos's Amazon MGM Studios is set to release a feature-length documentary about Melania Trump, directed by Brett Ratner, a filmmaker previously exiled after multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. The film was screened at a promotional event inside the White House, attended by around 70 VIPs, including Amazon's Andy Jassy, Apple's Tim Cook, and former boxer Mike Tyson, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Bezos acquired the rights to the documentary for $40 million (£30 million) and invested an additional $35 million in a global marketing campaign. However, ticket sales are reportedly 'soft' as the film prepares for release in over 100 UK cinemas.

The documentary's underwhelming pre-release performance has raised concerns about its potential box office success, despite the high-profile backing and substantial financial outlay.
