Saturday Night Live UK took aim at Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle, during a Weekend Update sketch that mocked the allegations against him. The segment referenced claims that Thomas Markle faces an investigation over allegedly possessing child abuse images at his home in the Philippines.
According to The Sun, Thomas Markle Jr allegedly found the material in boxes at his father's Philippines house and handed it over to local authorities. The SNL UK sketch saw comedian Paddy Young deliver a biting line about the situation, saying: "In royal news, it's been a big 24 hours for Meghan Markle, whose dad has been accused of being an alleged paedophile, in another pathetic attempt to win over the British public. In 2025, Thomas Markle moved to the Philippines as a sure sign of his innocence."

Fellow comedian Ania Magliano added a further jab, remarking: "If the allegations about Meghan Markle's father are true and he is a paedophile, there is a genuine chance Meghan could be considered royal." The jokes came as part of the show's Weekend Update segment, drawing on the ongoing controversy surrounding the 81-year-old.
Thomas Markle has denied all allegations against him, telling the Daily Mail he is "shocked" and "hurt" by his son's "sick lies." Meghan Markle has also issued a statement expressing her "deep distress" over the claims, saying she first became aware of them in 2018 after receiving a letter from the Met Police.
Police Confirm Letter Received
The Met Police confirmed on Saturday that it received a letter in 2019 about a "number of claims of alleged offending outside the UK by Thomas Sr, which they passed to the Sussexes but not any other law enforcement agencies."
Thomas Markle has since admitted to paying for sex in the Philippines but denies sleeping with underage girls. He told The Mail on Sunday he would do "whatever it takes" to clear his name, stating: "I have never had sex with anyone under the age of 18," adding, "I like Asian women, but that is not a crime."
