Meghan Markle is reportedly in talks to make a return to acting. The 45-year-old, who will soon be living back in the UK, could be set to star in The Gentleman despite a claim she was ditched from the Netflix series amid a public backlash.
No formal agreement reached yet
A formal agreement on Meghan's return to acting has not been reached, but bosses at the streaming giant are reportedly keen for the former Suits actress to make a comeback. Meghan previously starred as Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits between 2011 and 2017.
The Duchess of Sussex made the decision to step away from her career after getting engaged to Prince Harry at the end of 2017.
Meghan's view on stepping back
Speaking to the BBC after her engagement to Harry, she revealed that she doesn't see her stepping back from acting as "giving up anything", adding that she was looking forward to her "new chapter".
She said: "I don't see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter.
"Also, keep in mind, I've been working on [Suits] for seven years. We were very, very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series."
Recent projects and UK return
As well as the recent acting news, Meghan also filmed her part in Close Personal Friends in 2025. Also revealing in 2017, Meghan shared that she felt ready to step away from acting at the time.
The royal said: "I've ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I've done there, and now it's time to work with [Harry] as a team.
"I think what's been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is the causes that are really important to me that I can focus even more energy on."
Meghan is returning to the UK with Harry and their children.
