ITV's competition series The Fortune Hotel is back for a second season, with 11 pairs of contestants competing for a £250,000 prize hidden in a briefcase. Hosted by Stephen Mangan, the show challenges players to identify which pair holds the winning briefcase while avoiding elimination via an 'early checkout card'.
The format sees daily challenges determine the order in which contestants can keep or swap briefcases, with empty cases and the early checkout card adding to the tension. The pair holding the card at the end of each episode is eliminated. Mangan described the game as 'savage', requiring deceit and strategic voting to succeed.
Contestants this year include best friends Maz and Max, fellow besties Chelsey and Briony, father-son duo Atholl and John, brothers Jake and Mike, couple Allan and Jacob, partners Nella and Tope, Fred and Min, mother-daughter pair Martina and Briony, friends Gurk and Guv, and father-daughter James and Yasmine. Their backgrounds range from tech and cleaning to retirement.
Recent episodes saw Allan and Jacob eliminated after a vote by fellow contestants, and James and Yasmine sent home later that night. The winning briefcase currently resides with Maz and Max. Previously eliminated pairs include Briony and Chelsey, Atholl and John, Mike and Jake, and Guv and Gurks.
The Fortune Hotel airs on ITV1 and ITVX, with episodes available on the streaming platform after broadcast.
