The new series of E4's Married At First Sight got off to an uncomfortable start as bride Sarah was left in tears after her groom Dean's over-the-top wedding reception performance. The couple, the first to marry in 2025, tied the knot but it was clear from the outset that Sarah was not attracted to her new husband.
Before even meeting Dean, Sarah's friends told cameras he was far from her type. Sarah herself admitted after walking down the aisle: 'No, I don't fancy Dean. I'm so sorry.' However, she continued with the ceremony, only to be left cringing when Dean rapped his vows. 'Oh wow, he's just so over the top, that's put me right off,' she said.
The situation deteriorated at the wedding reception when Dean burst into song, leaving Sarah in tears and guests uncomfortable. Sarah described the interaction as 'awkward and weird', saying: 'I'm not an over romantic person at all and anything over the top does put me off. I don't know how to react to that.'
In tears, she confessed: 'I'm struggling a little bit, I can't lie. More than I thought. I can see why we've been matched I can. It's just not there.' She later told friends she had got the 'ick' and that it was 'definitely friends vibes' between them.
Despite the rocky start, Sarah's father advised her to go with the flow and enjoy things, though she stressed the initial spark was missing. Viewers will see the couple head off on their honeymoon in the next episode, leaving fans wondering if Dean's musical outbursts will prove too much for Sarah.
