Madelyn Cline’s Forgotten Stranger Things Cameo as New Film Lands on Prime Video

Madelyn Cline, best known for her roles in Outer Banks and Glass Onion, is appearing in a new film now streaming on Prime Video. The Map That Leads To You, directed by Lasse Hallström, follows a young woman on an adventure across Europe. Cline stars alongside KJ Apa, but many viewers may not recognise her from a previous role in the Netflix hit Stranger Things.

In Stranger Things, Cline played Tina, a minor character introduced in the second season. She appears in two episodes: MADMAX and Trick Or Treat, Freak. Tina is a Hawkins High School student who hosts a Halloween party in October 1984, where she is seen dressed as Madonna. Her brief appearance has been largely forgotten, partly due to her different look compared to her later roles.

Cline’s small part in Stranger Things, combined with work on The Originals, convinced her to drop out of college and pursue acting full-time. She has said: 'I was in college driving back and forth from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta to work on The Originals and Stranger Things, and I realised that something had to give. I wanted to at least try to pursue it full-time. So, I ended up dropping out, packing my car up, and leaving for LA.'

Now, Cline is balancing blockbuster films with streaming projects. The Map That Leads To You, an adaptation of JP Monninger’s novel, is available on Prime Video from August 20. The film explores themes of love, destiny, and personal choice.
