Lulu's Plea to Sharon Osbourne Amid Ozzy's Funeral

Singer Lulu made an emotional on-air plea for Sharon Osbourne to get in touch with her during a live appearance on ITV's Lorraine, just hours before Ozzy Osbourne's funeral. The 76-year-old Shout! hitmaker begged for either Sharon or her assistant Melinda Varga to contact her, saying she wanted to support the family on the day of the Black Sabbath star's funeral.

Ozzy Osbourne died last week at the age of 76 following a series of health issues. His funeral procession will take place in his hometown of Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon, with a special procession heading down Broad Street. The family has arranged a private funeral but allowed fans one last chance to pay their respects.

Lulu's plea did not sit well with some viewers, who took to social media to criticise her. One wrote on X: 'Lulu asking Sharon to get in touch with her. Painful,' while another said: 'Lulu making it all about her. And Sharon's avoiding her calls lol.' The singer had also reflected on Ozzy's final performance alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates at Villa Park, calling it 'unbelievable'.

The funeral procession is expected to begin at 1pm, with Broad Street closed to traffic from 7am. Hundreds of fans have gathered at Black Sabbath bridge to pay tribute, with chants of 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy' ringing out. The Osbourne family will view the floral tributes as they pass through the area, accompanied by a live brass band.

Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon and their children Jack, Aimee, Kelly, as well as Jessica, Louis and Elliott from his first marriage. The family's statement announcing his death read: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.'
