The BBC's hit detective dramedy Ludwig is set to return for a second series, with all six episodes dropping on BBC One and iPlayer on August 20.
Return Date and Cast
David Mitchell reprises his dual role as John "Ludwig" Taylor and his twin brother James, an accomplished detective chief inspector. Anna Maxwell Martin returns as Lucy Betts-Taylor, with Dipo Ola, Dorothy Atkinson, Ralph Ineson, Karl Pilkington, and Dylan Hughes also reprising their roles.
New cast members include Mark Bonnar as newspaper editor Gareth Fisher and Sian Clifford as MP Joanne Kemper.
Plot and Reception
The first series saw James vanish, prompting John to assume his identity and investigate, solving other cases along the way. The second series synopsis reveals John is now an official employee, forbidden from using police resources to find his brother, but he and Lucy continue the search.
Mitchell said: "I am delighted that Ludwig will be returning to solve more of Mark Brotherhood's brilliant mysteries. I can't wait to get started and have renewed the subscription on my denouement-learning app."
Ludwig became the BBC's biggest comedy launch in six years upon its debut in September 2024.
