Love Island's Joe Baggs Apologises After 'Savage' Swipe at Islander Sam

Love Island star Joe Baggs has apologised after making a 'savage' comment about fellow Islander Sam, suggesting he 'needs to book a flight home'. The remark came during an episode of Love Island Aftersun, where Baggs was a guest panellist alongside presenter Maya Jama and other guests.

Baggs said: 'I'm sorry I'm just going to come out and say it, I just think he needs to book his flight home.' He later added: 'Sorry guys, I know it was savage I know but it's just not working out is it.' Axed Islander Ope admitted he 'low key agreed', while Baggs clarified that Sam was 'too nice' for the show.

Last year's finalist Yasmin Pettet commented: 'He's too nice for the show, but we all said he's going to be eaten alive.' Robyn, who was paired with Sam in a platonic relationship, said: 'Sam's amazing but that's why I couldn't go there with him because I would eat that boy alive.'

The comments have divided viewers, with some agreeing that Sam should leave, while others have called for him to be protected. One viewer wrote on X: 'Sorry but please don't send Victoria back in for Sam. How about send Sam out.' Another added: 'They should have kept Ope in there longer, sent Sam and Namibia home.'
