Love Island winner Toni Laites has suggested she may relocate to the UK, saying she 'sees no reason' to return to America. The 25-year-old from Connecticut became the first American to win the UK version of the dating show last week alongside Cach Mercer.
Appearing on Friday's This Morning with her new boyfriend, Toni told hosts Joel Dommett and Emma Willis that while no final decisions have been made, her life now feels firmly rooted in Britain. She said: 'I don't think I'll be spending much time in America. Cach is here, I have a lot of opportunities coming up, my friends are here. I see no reason to be in America anymore.'
Toni described the sudden fame as 'insane', recalling that she was 'a very regular person before the show' and now faces millions of comments and followers. She added that she and Cach had doubted how they would be received, saying: 'We doubted ourselves for a while so it's so relieving to see that the public is welcoming us back.'
Cach, known for showing his emotions in the villa, admitted that feelings were 'heightened' during filming but said he has no regrets. He explained: 'It's kind of hard to hide. In certain situations, it's hard to act like the cool guy. But I loved the experience, I don't take back anything that I did in there or how I come across.'
The couple first met during Casa Amor, though Toni initially remained interested in Harrison. Harrison's return to the main villa with Lauren caused tension, and he later persuaded Toni to re-couple with him, leaving Cach in tears. After Lauren was dumped, Harrison said he saw a future with her on the outside, ultimately paving the way for Toni and Cach to reunite and win the series.
