Love Island's final week sparked over 500 Ofcom complaints, with viewers raising concerns about incidents on consecutive nights as the series concluded.
Complaints over two episodes
Ofcom's weekly audience bulletin revealed 150 complaints for the July 22 episode and an additional 360 for the July 23 broadcast. The regulator noted that complaints “related to contestant behaviour.” Both episodes featured the annual “Grafties” segment, where islanders watch clips of themselves and vote on awards.
Viewer and islander reactions
During the ceremony, Aidan collected multiple awards but said he felt he didn't deserve them, calling the Bella situation “blown out of proportion.” Clips of axed islanders from spin-offs Aftersun and The Debrief were also shown, prompting a furious response from some contestants. Priya later apologised after making remarks about bombshell Elicia's career, which some fans branded “job shaming.”
Viewers online called the footage “diabolical” and “so messy,” with one saying: “The podcast and Aftersun clips are SO messy I'm screaming.” Another wrote: “Them showing Aftersun clips is so messsyyy.” Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
