Love Is Blind UK fans have expressed disappointment over a shift in the show this season, with many calling the increase in intimate conversations "cringing."
The reality series has returned for its third season, following hopeful singles on the hunt for love. In the pods, the singletons go on blind dates before deciding whether to become engaged to their strongest connection, only then meeting face to face.
This season follows six newly engaged couples, after a record number of engagements, as they move in together and plan their wedding days. For some, the process is smooth sailing, but others face hurdles along the way.
Fans React to Increased Sex Talk
On August 19, Netflix released the first eight episodes for viewers to binge watch, but some fans have been distracted by the level of intimate conversations. Taking to Reddit, one person posted: "Seriously what up with all the flirting and sex talk? I understand the need of some flirting, and discussions about sexual drive. But the way these guys are talking are trashy. Call me conservative but I'm finding it too much. Talking about sensitive areas and nipples. Etc etc. It's a bit too much."
Another replied: "I was cringing! They do realise everyone can see this, right?! I'd be horrified knowing the world knows I have sensitive areas or my kinks. I get being flirty, but not like that. Discussing physical compatibility is important but it doesn't need that much depth and detail."
Mixed Opinions on the Conversations
A third admitted: "There are things I would refuse to speak about knowing I'm being recorded. It's like they forget." A fourth commented: "The fact that everyone else is just having these open conversations knowing thousands of people are going to be in on their private discussions is BAFFLING to me."
However, a fifth added: "I agree to some extent but sex is often an important part of a relationship for many people. I guess you have to ask questions about preferred frequency etc to see if you are compatible. In the real world you would know by dating but everything is so accelerated here so they need to discuss it to some extent."
Over on X, another agreed: "I personally take it as a red flag when people ask about sex right off the bat or have any conversation that are too sexual. Sexual discipline is extremely important to me."
Love Is Blind UK can be streamed on Netflix.
