TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is set to make her BBC Radio 2 debut this Christmas, taking over Jeremy Vine's slot during the festive period, the BBC has announced.

The station's Christmas schedule also includes a special celebrating the music of Stevie Wonder, presented by Jane McDonald and Trevor Nelson, and a tribute to the late DJ Johnnie Walker.

On Radio 4, listeners can enjoy a festive edition of Desert Island Discs with Kate Winslet, alongside programmes marking 75 years of The Archers and live broadcasts of Christmas Day service from Leeds Cathedral and Midnight Mass from Liverpool.

Radio 1 will exclusively reveal the official Christmas number one, while its popular presenter takeover returns, giving new DJs a chance to host flagship shows. Radio 3's Carols Across The Country initiative blends tradition and celebration, with live broadcasts and an Advent service from St John's College, Cambridge, honouring Sir John Rutter's 80th birthday.

Radio 5 Live features live sport and specials including Elis James and John Robins' 500th episode, while Radio 6 Music sees Jarvis Cocker and Bill Nighy sitting in for Iggy Pop, and Beth Dutto curating indie disco hits.

Kate Phillips, BBC chief content officer, said: 'Christmas on BBC Radio and BBC Sounds is all about bringing people together through the power of audio. This year, we're offering listeners an extraordinary mix of music, drama, comedy and conversation.'
