The Loose Women panel descended into another heated exchange on Wednesday as they discussed Meghan Markle's latest tell-all interview, focusing on her comparison of her wedding to Prince Harry with Nelson Mandela's release from prison.
Host Jane Moore and panellist Janet Street-Porter objected to the comparison, while Kelle Bryan defended Meghan. Janet challenged Kelle, suggesting she was implying British people would automatically think less of Meghan's son because of his mixed-race background. Kelle replied that Meghan had spoken of comments made about her son within the royal household.
Jane pointed out that racism exists in America as well, a point Kelle accepted. Janet then noted the irony of Meghan complaining about privacy intrusions in the UK while giving a lengthy interview and podcast. Kelle raised the constraints of royal life, claiming Meghan could not receive her mail without it being read by others.
Sophie Morgan intervened, saying the discussion was 'so boring' but understood the arguments. She remarked that Meghan should have anticipated scrutiny when comparing herself to Mandela, as such comments risk detracting from her intended message.
