Channel 5 has announced the return of the thriller mini-series Lie With Me, which will air all episodes starting tonight, July 6. The 2021 show replaces Riptide, another drama that reran last week.
Plot and Cast
Lie With Me stars EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks as Anna, a woman seeking a fresh start for her marriage in Australia with her husband and two young children. The couple hires a young local nanny, but secrets soon emerge. Brooks is best known for playing Janine Butcher on EastEnders from 1999 to 2022. She is joined by Australian actor Brett Tucker, who plays Anna’s husband, Jake Fallmont. Tucker is known for portraying Daniel Fitzgerald on Neighbours from 1992 to 2010.
Creator and Reception
The show was created by Jason Herbison, showrunner of Neighbours and creator of other Channel 5 thrillers including The Imposter and Riptide. Lie With Me originally aired on Channel 5 in 2021 and later on Paramount+ as With Intent for US audiences. It received positive reviews, with viewers praising its twists and unexpected ending.
