Lady Gaga Joins Wednesday Season 2 Cast as Rosaline Rotwood

Lady Gaga has joined the cast of Netflix's 'Wednesday' for its second season, playing the legendary Nevermore professor Rosaline Rotwood. The singer spent three days in Ireland filming her role, which co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar described as 'a crucial character' for the show's mythology.

Rotwood, a former teacher of Runes, Ancient Cryptology and Advanced Possessions, appears as a ghost in Episode 6 of Part 2. Wednesday seeks her help to access her psychic gift, following advice from her grandmother Hester (Joanna Lumley). After reciting an inscription on Rotwood's grave, Wednesday is transported into a spectral chamber where the professor warns her not to break the Raven's Gaze.

When Wednesday's friend Enid (Emma Myers) interrupts the ritual, the gaze is broken, triggering a body swap between the two characters. Rotwood's ghost reappears to tell Wednesday, now in Enid's body, that they must unravel the secrets of their new lives and be willing to die in each other's skins to reverse the spell.

In addition to her acting role, Gaga wrote a new song for the show titled 'The Dead Dance', which features in a dance scene and was released alongside Part 2 on Netflix. The collaboration came after Gaga's viral TikTok video dancing to the show's first season hit 'Goo Goo Muck'.
