Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer are reportedly in advanced negotiations to star in the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off, tentatively titled The Madison. According to TVLine, the Hollywood veterans are being eyed to lead the cast of the new series, which will follow the conclusion of the flagship show's fifth season in November.
The spin-off is expected to centre on Stacy Clyburn, an affluent matriarch who moves to Montana after her husband and brother-in-law die in a plane crash. While plot details remain scarce, the series is set to begin filming later this month in Montana, New York, and Texas, with a premiere date anticipated in 2025.
In addition to Russell and Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams—best known for his role in Suits alongside Meghan Markle—is also being considered for a leading role. Beau Garrett, of The Good Doctor fame, is rumoured to be in contention for a supporting part.
Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey was previously linked to the project, but it remains unclear whether Russell will replace him or portray a different character. The spin-off marks the next chapter in the Yellowstone universe after Kevin Costner's departure from the flagship series to focus on his film project Horizon: An American Saga.
Fans are hopeful that the wait for The Madison will be shorter than the two-year gap between the two halves of Yellowstone's fifth season. The second part of season five is set to premiere on Sunday, November 10, on Paramount.
