Kill Jackie, a revenge thriller partially filmed in Swansea, has been released on Prime Video. The series, based on Nick Harkaway's book The Price You Pay, arrived on Friday, October 2.
Cast and Crew
Catherine Zeta-Jones, who grew up in Swansea, stars as the lead. She is joined by Daniel Ings, known for The Gentlemen, alongside Raff Law from Masters of the Air and Darci Shaw from A Thousand Blows. Behind the scenes, Gangs of London showrunner Tom Butterworth and Killing Eve executive producer Damon Thomas are involved.
Plot and Reception
The story follows Jackie Price, a woman living a life of luxury as an art dealer. Her past as an international drug dealer from 20 years ago catches up with her when The Seven Demons, an elite group of assassins, are hired to eliminate her. She and her lawyer Sam, played by Ings, are forced to go on the run while trying to discover who wants her dead.
Reviews of the novel have been positive, with one Good Reads fan describing it as "truly unique," another calling it "simply intoxicating," and a third warning: "If you miss it you'll be sorry."
Zeta-Jones on Filming in Swansea
Zeta-Jones previously told Conde Nast Traveller about filming in her hometown: "People know me there and the people who lived in the street where we filmed were very sweet – they were very quiet while we were shooting but then said, 'Hiya Cath.'"
She added: "They're proud of me there, genuinely proud of me and it makes my heart soar. I have a very special place in my heart for Wales and the Welsh people."
All eight episodes of Kill Jackie are now available to stream on Prime Video.
