In a dramatic turn of events in Emmerdale, Kev (Chris Coghill) discovers that Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) are behind the disappearance of CCTV footage that could have cleared Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) of attacking Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle). The footage showed Kev knocking Billy out, leaving him in a coma with a bleed on the brain. Ruby and Caleb destroyed the footage to frame Joe, using it as leverage to blackmail Kev into sabotaging Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) business.
Kev's Dilemma
Kev is torn because Jimmy is Nicola's husband, and he is trying to mend his relationship with Nicola due to her connection with his son. Chris Coghill reveals, 'It’s is complicated for Kev because Jimmy is Nicola’s husband and he’s trying to make things a bit better with Nicola as well, because of her relationship with his son.' He adds that Kev 'hates them!' for making him their pawn.
The Nappy Heist
The B&B is in financial trouble, so Jimmy and Nicola are hoping for a new haulage deal. Ruby intercepts the shipment to force Jimmy into selling the business. Kev is forced to steal the shipment but is furious to discover it's only nappies. Ruby thinks she has the upper hand, but William Ash teases, 'Ruby thinks she can probably outmanoeuvre him [Kev], and Caleb thinks she has done, but when it comes down to it, he’s that much of a weapon, you just can’t combat it, can you?'
Water and a Right Foot
Spotting the laptop with the incriminating evidence in the café, Kev seizes his chance – 'A jug of water and a right foot.' He pours water over the laptop and smashes it with his foot, destroying the evidence. However, his relief is short-lived. At Joe's 'sten do', a tipsy Kev apologises to Billy for the attack, revealing the truth. Billy now knows, but it's unclear if he'll tell Dawn.
Kev warns Ruby and Caleb not to mess with him, threatening to take them down. But the question remains: will they get him first?
