Kelly Reilly, known for her role as Beth Dutton on Dutton Ranch, has opened up about her close relationships with her co-stars in an exclusive interview with The Mirror. The British actress, who has played Beth since 2018, shared insights into her bond with Cole Hauser, who portrays Rip Wheeler.

A Brother-Sister Dynamic

Reilly described her connection with Hauser as a "brother-sister relationship," highlighting their deep understanding and mutual support. "There's definitely an understanding we have of each other, just of how intimate we have been and how, for seven seasons of TV now, we have just worked together and have grown very close," she said. The pair, who play fan-favourite couple Beth and Rip, have developed a unique dynamic that extends beyond the screen.

She admitted they have their moments of disagreement but quickly reconcile. "We can scrap and we can make up like that [clicks fingers]. We definitely are protective of one another and have each other's backs in a way I have never had with another co-star."

Mutual Respect and Growth

Over the years, Reilly and Hauser have learned from each other, constantly striving to honour their characters. "He's somebody I can rely on and depend on, and he takes the relationship as seriously as I do, these two characters in a love story," she explained. "And the responsibility and how lucky we are we get to play them, so we both really want to protect that and make sure that is continued and nurtured."

They often offer each other notes on performances. "We are always questioning, is this the right thing for them? He will give me notes sometimes, and every now and then I'll help him out with something, so we have always got each other's back, and I think that just comes out of years of trust."

Protective Bond with Finn Little

Reilly also spoke about her relationship with Finn Little, who plays Carter, Beth and Rip's adopted son. Little joined the cast of Yellowstone as a child, and Reilly expressed her affection for him. "He was a little boy when we started, and he has always broken my heart. He's got those huge, big blue eyes, and he is so deeply feeling and sensitive," she shared.

Now 19, Little brings a delicate and artistic presence to the role. "He's quite an interesting choice for a son of Beth and Rip, really. He's a beautiful actor, and to see him growing into a man, I mean, he's 19 now, he's so delicate and sensitive and artistic and funny. I mean, he's Australian, and you wouldn't believe how funny that kid is."

Reilly admitted feeling "very protective of him" and noted that he reciprocates that care. "He's always checking in. He's very caring. But I'm so glad he's back, and he's coming into his own storylines as an adult."

Dutton Ranch airs on Fridays on Paramount+, following Beth and Rip as they start a new life in Texas after harrowing events in Montana, facing new challenges alongside their son Carter.
