Josh Hartnett was hospitalised with minor injuries after his vehicle collided with a police car in St John's, Newfoundland, last week. The 47-year-old actor was a passenger in an SUV returning from the set of an untitled Netflix project when the crash occurred just before 1am.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed in a statement on 25 September that they are investigating the collision. The SUV was driven by a 59-year-old man, and both he and Hartnett were taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries. The police officer involved was also taken to hospital as a precaution. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
A representative for Hartnett told USA Today that the actor was "looked at and then released back to work." The Independent has contacted Hartnett's representatives for further comment.
Netflix announced in August that production had begun on the "Untitled Newfoundland Project," starring Hartnett, Charlie Heaton, and Mackenzie Davis. The series is described as a drama about a mysterious sea creature terrorising a remote Newfoundland town, focusing on a fisherman fighting to protect his family and community.
