John Torode has publicly declared his love for wife Lisa Faulkner after she shared a heartfelt birthday message following her recent cancer diagnosis. The 61-year-old former MasterChef judge and actress Lisa, 54, have been married since 2019.
Taking to Instagram, Lisa posted a photograph of the couple smiling together, both wearing white tops. She described John as her “best friend” and acknowledged the difficult times they have faced in recent months. “What a year it’s been but we held each other’s hands and I couldn’t have got through these past few months without you by my side,” she wrote.
John responded with a short but touching message: “And I love and adore you,” adding a red heart emoji. Earlier this month, Lisa revealed she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer after a routine mammogram. She underwent surgery to remove the cancer and has since confirmed that doctors “got everything out”.
Sharing her experience on social media, Lisa urged others not to skip mammograms and thanked the NHS for its care. “They found this, and without that mammogram, it wouldn’t have been picked up,” she said. She added that she now requires radiotherapy but is feeling “much better”.
