Mad Men legend John Slattery stars as Leo Drummond in the US legal thriller The Rainmaker, which begins on ITV tonight, Friday 28 August, at 9pm. The show will air weekly and is also available to stream on ITVX.
Based on the best-selling novel by John Grisham, the synopsis reads: "Rudy Baylor, who is fresh out of law school, goes head-to-head with courtroom lion Leo Drummond as well as his law school girlfriend, Sarah. Rudy, along with his boss, Bruiser, and her disheveled paralegal, Deck, uncover two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client's son."

John, 64, is known for roles in Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, Spotlight, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man. Away from acting, he has been married to actress Talia Balsam since 1998, and the couple share a son, Harry, 27.
Talia, 67, was previously married to George Clooney from 1989 to 1993. Her career includes Happy Days, Dallas, Taxi, Hill Street Blues, Family Ties, The Larry Sanders Show, Magnum, P.I., Without a Trace, Homeland and Divorce.
Life imitating art in Mad Men
In a life imitating art twist, John and Talia played husband and wife Roger and Mona Sterling in Mad Men. The couple, along with their son Harry, also appeared together in the drama The Subject Was Roses.
In a 2019 interview with Closer Weekly, John said of his wife: "I just found the right person, you know, I lucked out. I guess marry someone you like. We get along well, we always have, and I guess being in show business, some people say it's difficult."
He added: "I don't know. We understand the rhythms of this life, which aren't easy sometimes and there's insecurity. You're not sure where you're going to be. So I don't know. I got lucky."
The Rainmaker is available to watch on ITV and ITVX from Friday 28 August.
