Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has once again talked her way out of trouble in Coronation Street, but this time she has taken a dangerous turn by loading a real gun.
After earlier revealing to the police that she assaulted Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), Jodie faced questioning from Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) about a trinket box and a gun. Jodie claimed the weapon was fake, but Lily later informed David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) about the gun in the house.
Confrontation with the Platts
David and Shona searched the house and confronted Jodie in the latest episode. She went upstairs and returned with a gun, insisting it was a toy. Jodie convinced Shona that she keeps the toy weapon for protection and apologised for scaring Lily.
Having got away with it again, Jodie spent the evening with the Platts. After they went to bed, she sneaked into the kitchen and found the real gun on top of the kitchen cupboards. She loaded it, hid it under her jumper, and left the house.
Actress hints at darker developments
Julia Goulding, who plays Shona, recently spoke about the growing tension between the sisters. She said: 'It’s challenging because Shona doesn’t see most of it, as her mind is preoccupied elsewhere. We’ve been told that Jodie is befriending the youngsters, like Lily and Harry, because she has the mind of a child herself. But in terms of playing the scenes, my back is almost always turned, so I don’t have to react to what she is doing or how she is reacting. As for the public’s reaction, people often try to warn me. They’ll say, “That sister of yours is a wrong’un,” and I just tell them to keep watching because it definitely gets worse!'
