Leomie Anderson, the 25-year-old Victoria's Secret model, caused a stir at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night when she asked the audience to applaud her legs after a muted reception.
Presenting the Talent Award at the O2 Arena, Anderson was visibly unimpressed by the lack of applause as she walked on stage. Clad in a skimpy yellow giraffe-print dress, she told the crowd: 'Come on guys, let's have a round of applause for these legs.'
The awkward moment sparked a flurry of reactions on Twitter, with some viewers branding her an 'attention-seeker' while others praised her confidence. One user wrote: 'She is stunning but I think she misjudged her role and situation in asking for the applause. It's about the winners.' Despite the frosty reception, Anderson went on to announce Strictly Come Dancing as the winner and graciously handed the gong to Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The National Television Awards also saw I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! win the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, while This Morning took the Daytime prize for the ninth time.
