Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to make a difficult decision on Clarkson's Farm, as one iconic member of Diddly Squat Farm departs. The fifth season featured dramatic scenes when Jeremy parted ways with the hugely popular Lambo tractor after it sat idle following his acquisition of the AgBot.
The Rise of the AgBot
The AgBot, a completely autonomous, driverless tractor, kept busy ploughing Diddly Squat Farm's fields and sowing seeds. Jeremy and Kaleb Cooper tracked the tractor's movements on their computers while attending to other farm duties, leaving the 2016 Deutz-Fahr tractor gathering dust.
The veteran presenter opted to offload it, stating in voiceover: "The green Lambo hadn't turned a wheel in weeks, so I decided to sell it, which meant getting it valued by an agricultural auctioneer."
Valuation and Auction
The assessment of the treasured farming machinery from Oliver Godfrey left Jeremy taken aback and disappointed. Oliver stated: "It's not the easiest thing to sell in the world, I'll be honest, but I would look somewhere in the region of between £50,000 and £60,000."
Jeremy admitted that the figure was "quite a lot less" than what he had originally paid when he purchased it for £80,000. On auction day, Jeremy appeared pessimistic about the Lambo's chances, remarking: "Here it is. There's going to be a frenzy of bidding..."
Nevertheless, the bidding gained momentum as potential buyers submitted offers for the green tractor that Jeremy had personalised and decorated with Lamborghini badges. As the bids climbed higher, Jeremy observed: "We are actually getting closer to the £80,000 that I had paid for it."
Stunning Result
Despite the valuation, both Jeremy and Kaleb were stunned and somewhat relieved when the Lambo ultimately sold for £70,500. Once the gavel fell, Jeremy remarked: "Well, it was a financial hit, but it wasn't a financial kick in the nuts."
Season Finale
The auction takes place ahead of tomorrow's Clarkson's Farm season five finale, when audiences will receive the final two episodes entitled Sickening and Reaping, referencing the TB outbreak and the harvest at Diddly Squat. Clarkson's Farm season 5 concludes tomorrow on Prime Video.
