ITV crime thriller Winter makes its debut tonight, Wednesday, September 30, and for actor Jamie Kenna the date carries a personal meaning. The release also marks Kenna's birthday, with his wife, West End star Claire Marlowe, sharing an adorable tribute on Instagram ahead of the broadcast.
Based on the French drama Balthazar, Winter introduces forensic pathologist Dr Ethan Winter, played by Richard Armitage. When the frozen body of a woman is found in a truck, Winter is brought in to help DI Lauren Bell (Annabel Scholey) and DS Ellis Daldry (Jamie Kenna) investigate, though the case becomes an “immediate challenge” for the trio.
Who Is Jamie Kenna?
Kenna is known to Coronation Street fans as Phil Whittaker, and has appeared in minor roles in Peaky Blinders, His Dark Materials and House of the Dragon. Off screen, he is married to Claire Marlowe, famed for starring in Titanic the Musical, Whistle Down the Wind and TV roles in Casualty and House of the Holy.
Marlowe took to Instagram to share a poster of ITV’s Winter with the simple caption: “My husband”. She also shared a selfie of the pair, writing: “Happy Jamie Kenna day! Have a lovely birthday! See you this eve!” In another post, she shared the trailer for Winter, calling it “what a treat” that it is coming out on Kenna’s birthday.
Anniversary and Streaming Details
Two weeks ago, Marlowe posted another personal update to mark their wedding anniversary. She shared a series of family snaps from their outdoor wedding with the caption: “Nine years ago…” followed by a heart emoji.
The entire six-episode boxset of Winter is already available to stream on ITVX. The show debuts tonight, Wednesday, September 30, at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
