ITV has confirmed that filming has wrapped on its upcoming four-part drama, Mavis Eccleston, a heartbreaking true story starring Dame Penelope Wilton and Sir Jonathan Pryce.
The series, titled after the 80-year-old Mavis Eccleston, tells the tale of how she was charged with her husband's murder after surviving a suicide pact. Dame Penelope Wilton, known for Downton Abbey, and Sir Jonathan Pryce lead the cast as Mavis and Dennis Eccleston.

Sharing an image on social media, the production showed Dame Penelope Wilton and Sir Jonathan Pryce as Mavis and Dennis alongside two other actors holding a clapperboard. They told followers on Instagram "that's a wrap", announcing the series will air on ITV and ITVX "soon".
Mavis and Dennis were married for almost 60 years before his death, following a terminal cancer diagnosis. Their children, Joy and Kevin, played by Call The Midwife star Chris Reilly and Blue Lights' Sian Brooke, are left to process the tragedy.
Official synopsis
An official description for the show reads: "Having taken an overdose together, they are both rushed to the hospital, where Dennis passes away, but Mavis survives."
"Following a confused and disorienting interview with hospital staff, the Police are alerted, and Mavis is arrested."
"In the midst of such tragedy, Mavis and her family, whilst trying to process the grief of having lost their father, now face the very real prospect of their mother spending the rest of her life in prison."

Cast and crew
The series has been penned by celebrated screenwriter Chris Lang, the creative mind behind ITV's Unforgotten. Also joining the cast are After The Flood star Jill Halfpenny and Darrell D'Silva, who will take on the roles of Tracey and Kenton, the partners of Kevin and Joy.
Rhashan Stone and Nathalie Armin will play Barristers Alex Wyatt and Rebbecca Fuller, with Emma Stansfield rounding off the cast playing Paula, a close friend of Joy's.
Mavis Eccleston will air on ITV and ITVX soon.
