ITV viewers were quick to share their thoughts as Michelle Keegan's gripping crime drama, The Blame, returned to screens, with some left distracted by a 'really odd' detail.
The Blame centres around DI Emma Crane (played by Michelle Keegan) and DI Tom Radley (Douglas Booth), who begin investigating a tragic murder in the fictional town of Wakestead. They quickly identify their main suspect, but as the case progresses, an unexpected lead comes to light.
As Emma and Tom dig deeper, they uncover a web of lies, institutional cover ups and moral compromise, which forces Emma to question the people closest to her. The official synopsis concludes: "Part propulsive mystery, part love story, The Blame will tackle big questions around policing and will take an unflinching look at who we can really trust."
Viewers spot figure hiding in bushes
The fourth episode aired on ITV1 on Monday night (September 28), with Emma uncovering a potential lead to Sophie Madsen's killer as a link to another victim was discovered. At the start of the instalment, Emma and DC Lewis Brimah (Nathan Mensah) paid Tom a visit.
However, viewers were quickly left distracted as they spotted a figure hiding in the bushes outside the house. The man was notably an ex-cop who left the force under a cloud of misconduct.
Sharing their confusion over the detail, one person fumed on X: "#TheBlame yer man hiding in the bushes. It's like a panto."
Another added: "Didn't expect that ex copper to be lurking in the bushes outside Tom's... whose side is he on? Is the Chief the murderer or is he covering for someone or is there a group of them?" A third viewer agreed: "Really odd the ex cop is hiding outside."
