Hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary had welcomed Lewis onto the programme to offer financial advice amid the cost-of-living crisis. The awkward moment came during a phone call with a viewer, but Lewis quickly resumed after the technical issue was addressed.
Earlier in the show, the hosts dealt with another tense exchange between guests Ashley James and Nick Ferrari over King Charles's new official portrait. The £8million government-funded scheme will see the photograph displayed in public buildings across the UK.
Ashley James, a Made In Chelsea star, criticised the spending during a cost-of-living crisis, saying, 'What a great use of public money... while we're having record waiting times for the NHS.' She added, 'It's always working people that are told to make sacrifices... but then they have £8million to roll out for a picture of the King.'
LBC's Nick Ferrari sarcastically responded, 'Thank you for that political party broadcast comrade Ashley,' and argued that many other countries have official portraits of their monarchs. The debate highlighted ongoing tensions over royal spending amid economic hardship.
