Fans of Last One Laughing UK have been curious about the identity of the show’s “intimacy coordinators” after their appearance in a recent episode. The guest stars, played by acclaimed British actresses and comedians Ellie White and Natasia Demetriou, appeared in episode five, titled “The Seagull & The Frankfurter”.
In the episode, the duo approached each contestant individually, explaining that they were hired to ensure safety and comfort in what they described as a “toxic work environment”. They joked about the TV industry being “a little bit pervy”, adding that they would be “floating around” and conducting one-on-one check-ins.
Contestant Romesh Ranganathan praised them as “two of the most talented character performers around”. White and Demetriou are comedy partners with their own BBC sketch show, Ellie & Natasia, which has been renewed for a second series. They have previously performed together at the Soho Theatre in London.
White is known for roles in The Other One, The Windsors, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, and Stath Lets Flats, where she appeared alongside Demetriou. She also featured in Wonka, Black Mirror, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, and The Great. Demetriou is best recognised for her roles in What We Do in the Shadows and Stath Lets Flats, winning a Critics' Choice Super Award in 2021 and receiving BAFTA TV nominations for both Stath Lets Flats and Ellie and Natasia.
