All eight series of the BBC detective drama Inspector George Gently have arrived on Netflix. The show, set in Newcastle and the North East during the 1960s and 1970s, originally aired on BBC One for a decade before concluding in 2017.
Plot
The series follows a Scotland Yard detective who relocates to the North East of England after his wife is killed in a hit-and-run. He seeks justice for her death, which connects to a criminal from his past, while also handling his professional duties investigating complex cases in the region.
