A four-part documentary series exploring Pep Guardiola's final two seasons as Manchester City manager is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. A Beautiful Obsession follows Guardiola throughout the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns, offering what is billed as 'the ultimate account of an emotional farewell'.

Since joining Man City in 2016, Guardiola led the club to six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, three FA Cups and five League Cups. As his decade at the club came to an end last season, the 'all-access' docuseries examines the trophyless 2024/25 campaign, before following the team's resurgence as they secured a domestic double the following year, winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Unfiltered access and a changing squad

The series captures a squad in transition, with established stars including Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and John Stones departing the club. It culminates with the climax of the 2025/26 season, including a pivotal clash with Arsenal, the FA Cup Final, and Guardiola's emotional farewell.

Directed by Academy and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, known for Touching the Void, The Last King of Scotland and the Whitney Houston documentary Whitney, the series reportedly offers 'unfiltered' access to Guardiola, his squad and the City boardroom, as new faces find their feet and Guardiola wrestles with when to call it a day.
