New DC Universe series
Lanterns is the second live-action series set in the DC Universe, the revamped franchise led by filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran. The new universe began with the well-received Superman movie in 2025, which featured Guy Gardner as a superhero. Lanterns is a sci-fi mystery thriller and is the latest project from the new leadership.
Release schedule and episodes
The first episode is streaming now, with new episodes released weekly. UK viewers can watch on Monday mornings, as episodes air at 9pm in the US, which is around 2am in the UK. The season will have eight episodes in total, with the finale set to land on October 5.
How to watch in the UK
Lanterns is a HBO-produced series, so it is available on HBO Max, which launched in the UK earlier this year. Viewers can sign up directly to the platform. Alternatively, UK viewers can access HBO content through certain Sky TV packages, the NOW streaming platform's entertainment membership, or as an add-on subscription via Prime Video.
