BBC One's new reality competition Destination X has captivated viewers since its debut this week. Hosted by Rob Brydon, the show follows 13 strangers as they compete for a £100,000 prize by guessing their location after being dropped in mysterious destinations around the world.
Each episode, contestants use cryptic clues to determine where they are. The participant whose guess is furthest from the actual location is eliminated. In one recent challenge, a contestant had to abseil from a gondola 2,000 metres high in the Swiss mountains, leaving fans astonished.
Viewers at home can also join the fun via the BBC's dedicated Destination X website. After logging in with a BBC account, players select an episode and answer five trivia questions to narrow down a map. For an extra challenge, the 'Where Am I?' game drops users into a random Google StreetView location, requiring a guess within five kilometres.
Once ready, players place an 'X' on the map. If their guess is within 50 kilometres of the actual destination, they earn a virtual badge to share with friends. The website reveals the correct answer after the episode airs.
So far, five contestants have been eliminated, including three who were sent home before even leaving the airport for the first destination. The competition continues weekly on BBC One.
