What happened in episode 5?
The previous episode saw shocking scenes in which Ser Luthor Largent (Tom Cullen) and many gold cloaks were slain in their own barracks. Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) and her mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) were trapped inside a secret chamber beneath the Red Keep during an attempt to escape. Meanwhile, Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) appeared to be leading the Greens and Ser Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox) on a death march across the Riverlands.
Teaser for episode 6
HBO has dropped a short teaser preview. Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) is hauled in by Lady Jeyne Arryn (Amanda Collin), who warns her: “Have you forgotten already the doom that hangs over you?” Ormund Hightower (James Norton) says: “We have the clear advantage. We are exposing her as weak and unsuited to rule. Little by little, bite by bite.” Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) then says: “I cannot let this go unanswered.” Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) tells her: “We must do what we should have done in the first place, burn the villains out.” The trailer ends ominously with Ormund saying: “The patient hunter gets the kill.”
The teaser seems to be teasing the Battle of Tumbleton, but fans have yet to see swords drawn. Episode 6 may see Ormund brought to heel if Daemon can take action.
