Hollyoaks Star Steph Waring Reveals Costars 'Stopped Talking' After Soap Exit – 'Lack of Support'
Hollyoaks' Steph Waring on Co-Stars 'Stopping Talking' After Exit

Former Hollyoaks star Steph Waring has revealed the heartbreaking reality of her exit from the long-running Channel 4 soap, admitting that many of her co-stars 'stopped talking' to her after she was axed.

Waring, who played fan-favourite Cindy Cunningham on and off for over two decades, claimed she felt a 'lack of support' from fellow cast members following her departure.

'It Was Really Tough'

In an emotional interview, the actress confessed that the experience was 'really tough', explaining how the sudden silence from former colleagues left her feeling isolated.

'You expect people to check in, but that didn’t happen,' she revealed. 'It’s painful when you’ve worked alongside someone for years, and then... nothing.'

A Sudden Exit

Waring’s character was written out of Hollyoaks in 2023 as part of a major cast shake-up. While she understood the 'business decision', the aftermath took her by surprise.

'I thought friendships would last beyond the show,' she admitted. 'But in this industry, sometimes people move on faster than you’d expect.'

Moving Forward

Despite the hurt, Waring remains optimistic about her future, focusing on new projects and personal growth.

'I’ve learned who my real friends are,' she said. 'And now, it’s time for the next chapter.'
