Hollyoaks Later returns this week as part of the Channel 4 soap's 30th anniversary celebrations, with actress Anya Lawrence branding it 'one of the best episodes' the show has ever aired.
The late-night spin-off, filmed entirely on location in Liverpool city centre and Merseyside, follows teenagers Dillon Ray, Lucas Hay, Frankie Osborne and Vicky Grant as they navigate the aftermath of child exploitation.
Lawrence, who plays Vicky, said she was 'flabbergasted' when she learned about the special episode and now wants it to air every week. 'It was so unreal to shoot... I think it's going to be the best episode we've had in a while,' she said.
The actress praised filming away from the usual set, noting it allowed for more creativity and accurate storytelling. However, she admitted she asked producers to alter one of her scenes, swapping a 'more risque' moment for something tamer.
Hollyoaks Later is known for its edgier content, including stronger language and sexual scenes. The episode airs as part of the soap's 30th anniversary celebrations.
